This is the second year Haselor has held a Soapbox
Derby it is organised by the Village Amenities Committee. The origins of the Amenities Committee go back some thirty-five
years when a group of regulars at The Crown, Haselor started a tote to raise money for the needy old folk of the village.
With the passage of time people were less needy and the money raised was used to take the senior citizens out for a meal,
and organise Christmas parties and outings for the young members of the community.
Sponsorship
We, and our charities, should be very grateful if the entering teams do their best to collect sponsorship from their
friends, family and colleagues as they build their soap box in the lead-up to the event, so do your best and this will directly
boost the amount we are able to donate to our charities.
Charities
Along
with continuing to supporting these long standing village commitments we will also be donating to the Warwickshire Air Ambulance, the
Warwickshire Branch of the Alzheimers Society and the Acorn's Hospice.
